Miles’ 1st Birthday Party
Most of my friends and most definitely my family members know that I am not exactly a great “hostess” of any sort. I often forget to ask people if they want water when they are over. I still can’t make a meal that is presentable for guests (unless chili counts). My mother in law and sister in law (two people that I would choose as family) are amazing hosts. They knock it out of the park when we just drop by. I really need to get them to train me now that I have a beautiful kitchen and absolutely no excuses not to host people. We moved into this house at the end of December and I had the brilliant idea to throw Miles a birthday party a month later… in our new, full of boxes, not homey, home.
Thankfully one of my best friends came in town to help me do things like make a cake and go grocery shopping for the party. I’ll be honest, I would have redirected people to Chuck E Cheese if it hadn’t been for her.
However, I do love creating things, especially on a budget! Ok that last part was a total lie. Who actually likes using a budget. Anyway, I wanted his party to be colorful and baby friendly but not really themed. I decided to indigo dye table cloths, make garland and signs and call it a day. It was really easy and really fun… and it surprisingly looked way more expensive than it actually was! Thanks budget.
I am just super thankful for this little boy. I’m really excited to plan his future birthdays with him when he can actually tell me what kind of parties he wants. Cheers, friends!
