DIY Grapefruit & Peppermint Sugar Scrub
As an artist I am probably supposed to love DIY projects but the honest truth is, I usually hate them! DIY basically means following directions and that is not my best quality! Any DIY projects you see on my blog really will be the absolute easiest things to make because in my book the only thing that makes them worth talking about is if a great result is achieved without great effort. 🙂
This sugar scrub was so simple I couldn’t believe it… and it turned out great.
You need: (click on items for links)
- White sugar
- Cold Pressed Coconut Oil
- Grapefruit Essential Oil
- Peppermint Essential Oil
- Glass Jar containers for keeping or gifting
In a big bowl put two cups of sugar to 1/3 cup of coconut oil and just mix together with your hands. (TIP: You can make it more or less oily with the coconut oil depending on your scrub preference). Add 10 drops of grapefruit and 4 drops of peppermint. You can multiply this recipe and make it as big as you like. It is so easy!
We made these for my sister’s wedding shower and then packaged them in little mason jars. One bag of sugar made 30 4oz jars.
I use my grapefruit and peppermint oils in so many ways and I will continue to post about DIY projects and uses for them! So if you are interested in getting the oil for the project make sure you hold onto it for more good stuff! Peppermint has supported so many pregnancy discomforts. If you want to learn more about essential oils go here! Or send me a message and I can tell you how big of a skeptic I was and why I changed (and am still changing every single day!)
