DIY Abstract Painted Pumpkins
I love the idea of covering my house in pumpkins for fall… especially if they don’t die and I can use them next year! So this year I decided to go ahead and buy a few that I could paint. The best thing about this is that if I decide I want to change up the designs next year I can just repaint them! For this fall I decided to go with a different color scheme than orange and black because I was wanted to make our home feel feminine. I think it’s probably from the hormones of this little girl that will be born in just a few short weeks (I can’t wait!)
I got my Pumpkins at Michaels. The best paint to use is acrylic paint. You will need to paint your pumpkins in layers. Go for the base color and let it dry for an hour. Then start adding fun (and easy) patterns however you choose! And seriously, for all you perfectionists out there, don’t worry if you mess up. You have two options, you can just turn that side of the pumpkin to face the wall (lol!) or just paint over it once it dries. This is such a relaxing fall activity. I actually did it while I was sick at home by myself!
Happy fall friends! Hope you are enjoying every single bit of this beautiful season!
