7 Summer Must-Have Products
Can’t live without this stuff! For all the Summer’s sunshine I apply sunscreen to my face and neck daily… Well, I should! Sometimes I do forget. My makeup has 15 spf but that really isn’t enough to protect you from the summer sun. This sunscreen has natural moisturizing ingredients, is fragrance free, and water resistant.
Use once or twice a week but make sure to not combine w any other exfoliants/retinols/etc. This stuff makes you younger, I swear!
I have tried almost every dry shampoo on the market. I always have two problems with the ones that I find that actually work… One: I have brown hair and most of my favorites dry shampoos make my hair white! Two: The chemical in the powders and sprays are so bad, especially for a pregnant mom. Stranded has solved both of my problems, it smells amazing, and does wonders for my hair after several days of not washing… I will not be revealing just how many days my hair has gone unwashed (so embarrassing). My beloved friend Lauren Scruggs Kennedy, along with others, created this dry shampoo to solve these problems and they nailed it. I am so proud.
This stuff is so inexpensive for an amazing bronzer! I love the color and texture. It gives an extra shimmer to those sun kissed cheeks. It’s definitely a seasonal must but I use it all year long!
I don’t know what it is about this color but in the summer I am obsessed with how it looks on tan feet and hands! Ok, for me mostly feet because I NEVER paint my nails. I hate painting my nails. With my actual art career I always have acrylic paint on my hands and painting my nails feels like a complete waste of time. However, my husband recently told me he really likes painted nails (LOL!) so maybe I need to get on this. Anyway, this color has been a long time fave.
Add a tiny, TINY amount to the ends of your hair at night. This will really help the sun and water damage that you see in the Summer. It’s great bc it’s pure oil and not loaded with silicones, so it actually moisturizes your hair and doesn’t just sit on top of it and coat it with silicones like most oils have. Any oil that has ingredients that end in “cone” are usually filled with silicones… which is fine for small amounts occasionally on wet hair to seal in moisture but too much of it and it actually dries out your hair because natural oils can’t be absorbed. The bottle will last you a lifetime. Unless you lose it.
The ways you can use this stuff is never-ending! Here are my favorite summer ways: Add it to your conditioner for extra shine, add it to your cleaner (or make your own) to eliminate odors, and add it to your moisturizer to help with blemishes. So much good stuff. Just make sure you buy a high quality oil like Young Living makes (my favorite).
Happy July! Summer is going by so fast, make it count!
